He's an awesome dude and, while he probably gets requests to plug stuff all the time, doesn't take any offense to it. I had the pleasure of reading his book before he released it and actually giving him feedback, and he added me along with a bunch of others who did the same in the acknowledgement section! Very cool and understanding dude. It never hurts to ask! Don't lose any sleep over it man, I've asked Derek for a plug myself. I'm sure many times the band isn't invested in the whole brand and the leader's got to do it, but in a truly equal band, you've got a small little army to help do the stuff you struggle with.
