Former Guns N Roses Guitar Player Slash Makes New Music

Former Guns N Roses guitar player (or GNR as some prefer) Slash has had the quintessential rock and roll career. There have been drugs, women, fights and enough stories to fill a book or two. With such a storied career, it is really cool to see Slash’s new partnership venture to make a record with a new artist based on fan voting. Guitar Center, FameCast and Slash have teamed up to offer this chance and although the registration process to vote for a band and Slash is a bit laborious and annoying, I find it very cool that fans are able to help pick who will make this record with Slash. Guitar Player Magazine recently named Slash as their top 2 guitarist of all time. The man definitely has some talent.

So being that I’m an artist, this is particularly interesting to me. Now Slash could be described as dark, having come through some tough things and lived a life of excess. I feel that at the core, this is a man who loves music and is doing the right thing in life. He’s come through a lot and is living better. I can’t think of a better pairing than myself with Slash on a record. I’ve got a great rock voice (not to boast, but it’s a gift) and Slash has amazing guitar chops and knows great songs. I also aim to bring through the light, to find the positive even in the dark. Sounds like we’d be a Ying and Yang team.
