Hello, and welcome. This is the home of my music (sometimes called motivational music) and the place to keep up with what I’m doing. The story of music and me isn’t a traditional tale. It wasn’t until the age of 24, that I discovered my musical ability. Though I felt it immediately, I assure you, those close to me certainly questioned my new passion and with good reason. It began with me making music on my computer up in my bedroom, no musical training, but an ear for sounds. The early songs can only be described as fragmented bits of sound with lyrics that had no real craft or structure to them. This passion and pursuit of music took me to New York City with nothing more than a dream to “Make it.”
The next phase would take me away from New York to actually learn music, to learn an instrument and begin refining the craft of songwriting. I moved to Walla Walla, Washington and started to create, reflecting inwardly, asking what mattered in life, what was my purpose and how could I find deeper meaning and connection to my true nature. This process opened a window into my heart, my pain and my joy, leading me to find a peaceful and quiet center which would help down the road in my songwriting as well as my general feeling of life balance. 2 years later, with guitar in hand, hundreds of songs written and a desire to make music that spoke to the human condition, I returned to New York City, determined to again “Make it”…can you see a theme?!
The return to New York would yield the most creative, productive and illuminating experience in my life to date. It is there that I formed the bridge between my spiritual side and musical side. I fell deeper into meditation and soul searching and found that my music was beginning to reflect more and more my own shift toward exploring human pain, suffering and the transition out of it, into the light, where we are vibrant, full, creative and worthy beings. This is where that motivational music part began to form. I couldn’t seem to write a song that didn’t have some positive or motivational message to it. After two magical years, I left New York to figure out how I was going to take what I’d found and combine it with my music to really connect to an audience in search of deeper meaning for their own lives.
This is where we are today. I continue to work on my music as well as teach guitar lessons and share some of the things I’ve learned thus far in life with others. That message is one of self-love, overcoming limiting beliefs and tapping into our core essence. That part of us that is a creative, bold and free spirit. I try to create music that speaks to the pain, hurt and darkness of life and then turn the coin over to say there is light, there is hope, there is a way out…there is a choice.
I invite you to watch the video above and get some of my music to take with you. My purpose is to share my music with you anyway I can and so I’d love to just give it to you. Pass it along to your friends, neighbors, pets, grandparents, or anyone else you see fit. Just sign up to the right and you’ll be downloading in no time!
Music is such a wonderful and powerful part of our lives, and that is why I am committed to making music that has a message of value. A message to inspire you along through your journey in life. We need music for when we’re up, down and all around. Life’s just better with a soundtrack. Take a listen and tell me what you think.
I look forward to hearing from you.
